Hagia Sophia, which means “holy wisdom,” is the first masterpiece of Byzantine architecture where the relics of the Magi were initially presumably kept. Its influence has had a lasting effect on Eastern Orthodox architecture and the construction of Catholic churches and mosques in the Muslim world.
