Al Hamar, founder of the dynasty is today the name of beaches or luxury residences on the Costa del sol; Rey Zagal, 23rd Emir, is now also known as a brand of wine; Mount Mulhacen, presumed tomb of the 21st Emir, located on the highest peak of the Sierra Nevada is the favorite slope of the most experienced skiers. Names of streets, restaurants, even olive oil, remind us of the names of the Nasrid rulers. Many popular festivals in Spain, such as "Los Moros y Cristianos" or "Los Tiraores" in Campotéjar are historical testimonies of the traces left by this dynasty in our western traditions.
