Muhammad ibn Nasr, often called Al-hamar ("The Red One"), is said to be a descendant of Sa'd ibn `Ubâda from Medina, chief of the Banu Khazraj tribe and companion of the Prophet of Islam. His family first immigrated to Saragossa and then took refuge in Arjona in Andalusia when the Aragonese city was conquered by Alfonso I of Aragon in 1118.
