SEAL OF SOLOMON / STAR OF DAVID: A SYMBOL COMMON TO THE ABRAHAMIC RELIGIONS

In ancient Jewish, Christian and Islamic legends, the seal of Solomon is engraved on a magic ring that the Israeli king Solomon (Sulayman in the Islamic version) is supposed to have possessed. This six-pointed star is today mainly represented on the flag of the State of Israel and the facades of synagogues around the world. According to Jewish tradition, it represents the emblem of King David (Daoud in Islam). This star is also found on some tombs of the Nasrid Kings.
