Patriarch Chrysostom, who officiated at Hagia Sophia, violently denounced the life of luxury that Empress Eudoxia of Constantinople led. His homilies “Commentaries on St. Matthew” provide much information on the Magi. His relics are venerated today in Rome, in the Vatican.
