The Generalife or Jannat al-Arif (Arabic for "Garden of the Architect") is the summer palace of the Nasrid princes. It allows for shade and refreshment on the edge of the sloping water basins, capturing springs in the distant Sierra Nevada mountains, making it a vast and extremely lucrative agricultural property.
