la Siria romana, donde se encontraron con el  Mago Melchor de Persia. La llegada de los Reyes Magos a trav\u00e9s de Siria (que en aquella \u00e9poca inclu\u00eda los actuales L\u00edbano y Siria) ha sido ampliamente comentada por los eruditos musulmanes. La riqueza de Tiro se basaba en el comercio, sobre todo en la explotaci\u00f3n del murex, una concha que produce un tinte rojizo, con el que se elaboraba la &#8220;p\u00farpura de Tiro&#8221;, reservada a la \u00e9lite. Los an\u00e1lisis realizados por el Obispado de Colonia (Alemania) sobre los tejidos procedentes del Santuario de los Reyes Magos de Colonia, que se supone contiene los cuerpos de los Reyes Magos, muestran la presencia de un tejido p\u00farpura procedente de la regi\u00f3n de Tiro, fechado entre los siglos I y II.
