Al frente de un ej\u00e9rcito para defender el Reino musulm\u00e1n de Granada, Cidi Yahya se rindi\u00f3 y fue bautizado como Don Pedro Granada Venegas el 25 de diciembre de 1489 con su esposa e hijos en presencia de los Reyes Cat\u00f3licos que se convirtieron en sus padrinos. Recibi\u00f3 privilegios y fue reconocido por los Reyes Cat\u00f3licos como \u00fanico heredero de la Casa Real Nazar\u00ed, la Casa Soberana de los Nazar\u00edes.
