Moïse est selon la tradition le premier prophète du Judaïsme. En Islam, Moussa (Moïse) est le prophète le plus présent dans le Coran, cité à cent trente-six reprises.
Le prophète Daniel, surnommé « le mage Balthazar de Babylone » est un des grands prophètes de la Bible hébraïque, et de l’Ancien Testament. Daniel, en arabe Daniyal, est généralement considéré par les musulmans Chiites comme un prophète. Plusieurs mosquées lui sont consacrées.
